Saddler's Creek Wines was established in 1990 by two friends with a passion for fine wine and a serious love of horses.
Over time, the winery gained a reputation for producing outstanding full-bodied red wines. The Bluegrass label was developed and has become a highly acclaimed iconic wine and Saddler's Creek signature brand.
Like so many before and since, Frank Laureti was introduced to Bluegrass Cabernet Sauvignon through a friend and subsequently took up a Saddler's CLUB EQUUS membership, which he enjoyed for over ten years. He loved the stuff! So when Saddler's Creek came up for sale in 2014, Frank had what he describes as a "Victor Kiam moment" (of Remington Shaver fame) and purchased the winery lock stock and barrel!
Frank's enthusiasm was contagious, and his wife Wendy and brother Serge became partners in this new venture. Frank concedes that buying into the wine business was "a romantic notion, but you do some things for work and some things to live…….friends, food and wine are among life's great pleasures."
Fast forward to today, and as a Halliday-rated 5 Star Winery, Saddler's Creek Wines remains a boutique winery specialising in crafting premium quality wines.
Saddlers wines are distinctly different from the vast majority of wine products available to wine lovers. Visit their Pokolbin Cellar Door to experience a premium wine tasting experience. Enjoy one of their seasonal tasting food and wine journeys, or attend a regular-themed masterclass to enhance your wine understanding and knowledge. Their food van also offers a seasonal menu curated to enhance their wine flights.
The popular 'Weekends at Saddler's allows visitors to relax in the wine garden each Friday, Saturday and Sunday, where they can enjoy local live acoustic music with delicious food to complement their wine tasting experiences.
Saddler's Creek Wines also offer a beautiful picnic ground with picnic tables or BBQ facilities and stunning Brokenback Range vistas. Where there's wine, there's food - and music! Twilight Friday Wine & Chill offers visitors to the Hunter Valley and locals an outdoor wine experience with a relaxed vibe. Grab a glass or a bottle of award-winning Saddler's Creek wine, cosy up by the fire or heaters and let Chef Jonathan cook you up some delicious casual eats. Wine & Chill on our verandah and deck with local live music, and let the weekend begin! Each Friday in Spring, Saddler's Eats serves up a selection of South American delights. THROUGHOUT OCTOBER & NOVEMBER - Explore Italian Varietals - Sunday Lunch Throughout October and November, Saddler's Creek Wines are showcasing the limited-release Winemaker's Craft 'Single Suitcase' series of Italian varietals in this relaxed yet informative guided tasting with lunch experience every Sunday.
