Fine Dining Meets Casual Charm at The Deck Café

the deck cafe

Situated on the deck over the picturesque dam in young forest bushland at Gartelmann Wines, The Deck Café Lovedale is an experience to remember with the Hunter's "celebrity" Chef Matt Dillow and his dedicated team creating café favourites with a Hunter Valley fine-dining twist.

The Deck Café is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch and one Sunday night each month for the highly coveted locals nights (and no, you don’t have to be a local!)

You can also book private functions, and off-site catering. But if that’s not enough, join Matt on his Food, Wine and Produce Tours, with destinations like Tasmania, Margaret River, South Australia and Italy; it’s an experience to remember.

It's the perfect place to start the day, have a break from a morning of wine tasting or chill out with family and friends. Think breakfasts like scones with Chantilly cream, house-made jam and fresh strawberries or Belgian waffles with your choice of delicious toppings. Or maybe a hangover roll is in order? If not, try eggs benedict with herb-roasted field mushrooms or the Power Plate to get your day going. There’s also one of Matt’s favourites, Crab Omelette, which is blue swimmer crab with zucchini, chives, bisque, salmon caviar and grilled sourdough.

The lunch menu is just as delicious, with a tapas menu that includes Slipper Lobster with chorizo, herb gnocchi, and smoked cherry tomatoes, Spanish Iberico Jamon with pecorino, panko crusted egg and truffle oil or Tempura Zucchini Flower filled with roasted pumpkin and fetta, sun-dried tapenade (to name a few!)
