Spanning 130 breathtaking acres, Winmark Wines is not just a premium Chardonnay producer but a destination.
With a rich viticultural history dating back to 1972, when the first vines were planted with Penfolds clone on block 4 of the 28 acre vineyard, Winmark has released the icon Chardonnay 72 honouring the 50th anniversary of these vines. The icon ‘seven two’ heralds the move to produce this Chardonnay exclusively using the premium fruit of block 4. This small batch Chardonnay will only be produced in outstanding years and will be available exclusively through their Cellar Door. The exceptional Chardonnay has been hand harvested and whole bunch pressed. The precious fruit was fermented with indigenous yeast and spent 11 months in French Oak resulting in an opulent, creamy palate underpinned by a beautiful line of acidity and a long lingering finish.
