Maitland Taste, presented by The Mutual Bank, will tantalise the tastebuds this month when it returns to The Levee for a weekend of food, wine and entertainment.

From Friday, May 17, to Sunday, May 19, The Levee Shared Zone will transform into a culinary wonderland, offering an array of gourmet delights, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

“Maitland Taste continues to elevate its status as a premier event in the Hunter, offering an immersive experience showcasing locally sourced produce, skilled chefs and artisanal creations,” says Maitland Council Events Coordinator Adam Franks.

This year’s program will unveil two unique themed pop-up eateries: Coffin Lane will be reborn as Boydell’s Bubbles Bar in a special collaboration with Boydell’s wines, and Dransfield Lane will metamorphose into the Dransfield Diner, a retro diner-style haven filled with classic milk bar food vendors and sweet treats.

“As Maitland’s local wine company, Boydell’s is proud to support Maitland Taste,” says Boydell’s Operations Manager Greg West.

“We welcome visitors to Boydell’s Bubbles Bar for a glass of our popular 2023 sparkling Verdelho, 2023 Miss Harriet ‘Sweetie’ sparkling Rosé, our newest release NV Bessie sparkling red, or a glass of wine from the Boydell’s range.”

The weekend will be a hub of diverse activities, from live music and entertainment to market stalls, live cooking demonstrations on the Kitchen Stage, gardening and permaculture tips on the Garden Stage, and the introduction of a 'long lunch' experience at Acacia Dining.

Adding to the ambience, a new lighting installation by The Beautiful and Useful Studio called Love Pop, inspired by Andy Warhol's Soup Cans, will offer a unique perspective on love and diversity through oversized product imagery.

‘Whether you’re a food enthusiast, wine connoisseur, green thumb, or simply seeking to immerse yourself in the atmosphere, this year’s program offers an abundance of new activities and events,’ Mr Franks says.
