It’s perhaps the most recognisable cellar door in the Hunter Valley, but the architect-designed uber-luxurious ‘wine barrel’ at the gateway to Wine Country is also home to boutique winery Hungerford Hill and two-hatted restaurant Muse Restaurant.

The history of Hungerford is long and complex, but its most recent chapter began in December 2016 when Sam Arnaout purchased the winery. He had visions of a Hungerford Hill with a greater focus on Hunter Valley wines, so he also acquired the renowned Sweetwater and Dalwood vineyards.

Now, with an award-winning cellar door, restaurant and range of wines, Hungerford Hill is in the enviable position of being able to offer an all-encompassing wine and food experience worthy of its name.

With renowned winemaker Bryan Currie at the helm, Hungerford produces award-winning wines packed with character and interest, focusing on classic Hunter varietals as well as the cool-climate regions of Hilltops and Tumbarumba.

Having recently added the Dalwood Vineyard – Australia’s oldest continuously operating vineyard – to its portfolio, Hungerford Hill has cemented itself in the country’s winemaking history while ensuring that elegant, characterful wines will remain the standard for years to come.

The team at Hungerford have worked tirelessly to build a reputation for distinguished wines and an unforgettable cellar door experience in partnership with Muse. Their respective talents combine for the Epic Tasting Experience, a mini degustation showcasing the best of the Hunter region, which features bite-sized dishes from Muse paired with a selection of Hungerford wines.

You can find Hungerford Hill at 2450 Broke Road Pokolbin, or get directions from wherever you are on your phone at
