Savouring the Chill: Hunters Quarter Winter Menu Heats Up Wine Country

As frost dusts the vines and a chill settles over the valley, Hunters Quarter in the heart of Wine Country unveils its eagerly anticipated winter menu, capturing the essence of the season's hearty bounty.

 

Renowned for its commitment to locally sourced ingredients and innovative culinary techniques, Hunters Quarter invites diners into the restaurant's warm, inviting atmosphere - a cosy refuge from the cold, promising comfort and indulgence to match the crisp winter air outside. Drawing inspiration from the region's abundant harvest, the new menu showcases seasonal ingredients meticulously crafted into exquisite dishes by Chef Brian Duncan and his talented team. Each plate celebrates the abundance of winter produce that graces the region, from earthy root vegetables to warm spiced puddings.


Start your culinary adventure with an entrée of smoked Berkshire Pork with celeriac remoulade and Piccadilly ketchup, or indulge in the delicate flavours of Paroo Kangaroo Tartare with Haynes Farm chicken egg, baby arugula, potato wafer and Chimichurri.


For the main course, immerse yourself in the robust flavours of the season with dishes like Wagyu Beef Lyonnaise with Paris mash, cipollini onions and tarragon mustard or the Hickory-Smoked Duck Breast with cauliflower cream, radicchio, crimson raisins and Pedro Ximénez. Vegan options abound on the dedicated vegan menu, with highlights such as the Grilled Zucchini with split pomodoro, saffron fennel and herbed pangrattato.


No winter feast is complete without a decadent dessert, and Hunters Quarter delivers indulgent treats like the Warm Spiced Carrot Pudding with caramel pecan mousse, bosc pear gel and cream cheese ice cream.


If you find it challenging to choose from the à la carte menu (who wouldn’t!), then the degustation menu ($150pp) promises to excite your taste buds with a selection of the five most popular dishes from the main menu. Problem solved!


Complemented by an extensive selection of wines from nearby vineyards, the winter menu at Hunters Quarter promises an authentic taste of the region, designed to leave a lasting impression.
