Viva Italia! Well, Viva Broke Fordwich…

After a 2-year hiatus, the much loved weekend festival -

A Little Bit of Italy in Broke - is back, baby.

And this year, in its 16th rendition, from Friday 29 April to Sunday 1 May, it’s better than ever. It’s a welcome time to return to the best kept secret corner of the Hunter Valley with its wide-open spaces and fresh country air for food and wine lovers. And it’s a festival sure to please.

Your Festival Starter Kit is your ticket to ride! It’s a kind of choose-your-own-adventure weekend where you jump onto the ticketing site and set yourself up with a Starter Kit which, from just $30 will give you a take-home Zafferano glass, festival map and a minimum of four tasting experiences that you book at your chosen wineries.

Create a tailor-made festival itinerary from the eight participating cellar doors via the ticketing platform on the new Broke Fordwich website at www.brokefordwich.com.au. We encourage you to add on extra tasting experiences and Special Events when booking your Starter Kit, from as little as $5 per person.

The secret to exploring the eight fabulous cellar doors, all with Italian inspired festival offerings, is to plan ahead.

Explore the complete Festival Program on the website, which includes a range of Special Events and Workshops that you can incorporate into your itinerary, or work your way through one of the suggested itineraries. There’s a welcome dinner in a transformed piazza, pasta making classes, chocolate workshops, cocktail masterclass, Italian wine masterclass, degustations, picnic hampers, Aperitivo, art experiences and more!

This all-new festival concept allows you to taste the best of the Broke Fordwich wine region, its superb wines, stylish cellar doors and artisan food offerings over one great weekend.

The exciting program really has something for every kind of wine lover; you’ll be able to decide if it’s pizza or puttanesca, baroque or Barbera that takes your fancy as each winery will have its own unique Italian take on their festival weekend. In true Italian country style, kids are welcome, and better still, they’re free*.

The newly launched website is also the go-to place for all the incredible accommodation options from luxe to off-grid, for groups and gal gangs, or family farm stay to romance. And they’re all bookable online. With so much to do in the Broke Fordwich wine region itself, it really is a great place to spend the weekend exploring.

Traditional Italian hospitality has inspired us to fling open the doors and welcome visitors, and we look forward to welcoming you into our home. So, jump into the program and immerse yourself in all the food and wine experiences on offer at A Little Bit of Italy in Broke.

*Kids are free as they do not require a Festival Starter Kit which includes wine tastings reserved for over 18 years only. Some venues will offer Special Events which are bookable and may require children under 18 to book if they are taking up a seat or require a meal.
